Can You Lose Weight with a Ketogenic Diet?

It’s hard to wrap our heads around the fat that eating more fat is actually good for us, so I can completely understand the question popping up on many blog forums, “can you lose weight with a keto diet?”  In fact, I had a booth at a health fair event once where I was wearing a shirt that said, “Eat Fat. Burn Fat” and a woman saw me, read my shirt, shook her head in confusion while looking at me like I had three heads, and scurried away.

I get it.  I would be lying if I didn’t say that I was skeptical AF when I first learned about the ketogenic lifestyle, even though it was directly from the mouth of a man I completely admire and trust.  Eating FAT actually burns fat?  We were always told that it was the opposite!

After years of living this lifestyle and successfully coaching hundreds of clients, I can answer the question, “can you lose weight with a keto diet?” with an emphatic YES!  It may take time, and it may even be a little uncomfortable at first, but it can and it will work if you commit and trust the process.
