Why You Need a "Praise File" 🙌

When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year..."
A "Praise File" will be your best friend on days like this!
What the heck is a "Praise File" you ask? It is a place where you store positive remarks made to and/or about you. This can be an email folder, Google Doc, Evernote list, journal - wherever you want this praise to live. Your Praise File might include testimonials from happy clients, love notes from your friends/partner/kids, compliments you've received on social media - anything that makes your heart happy and gives your soul a reason to smile.
Here are three reasons why you should keep a Praise File going at all times:
1. Boost your confidence! Even the most self-assured person needs to be reminded of their badassery from time-to-time, and reading notes from your Praise File IS that reminder.
2. Pick yourself up if you've been knocked down! As much as I'd like to pretend like it's all sunshine and rainbows over here, the truth is that I get knocked off of my game frequently... and it's usually by my own doing (hellllo comparisonitis!) When I look through my Praise File, I head back up to Cloud 9 where I belong!
3. Self-care! I preach this ALL. THE. TIME. Self-care is necessary to our survival; stress can literally kill us. We may not have time to get a massage or soak in a warm epsom salt bath, but we can 1000% spend 30 seconds reading a love note that someone wrote to/about us.
This message from my Dad went straight into my Praise File: "Three months ago, I thought I was medically in debilitating trouble. My 12 years of chronic leg and groin pain was getting worse. After three medical evaluations, doctors had no answers or help! I was finally ready to follow your advice and program. I'm so glad I did. After two weeks, I began to notice a difference. My pain level subsided. I started getting back my energy level and the desire to get busy again. By weeks three/four, I was doing day-long physical activities. Surprisingly, I noticed I wasn't hungry between meals. I wasn't craving my previous sweet addiction. You can create a Praise File, too!
1. Save all emails/texts/social media messages that make you feel happy and give you a sense of accomplishment.
2. Store these messages in a file system that works well for you, such as Google Doc, Evernote, an email folder, or a physical journal. You may even want to print them out and keep them in a nice folder or special box.
3. Refer back to your file any time you need that boost of confidence, an act of self-care, and/or you're feeling like like is stuck in second gear.
